CLIFTON PARK — Multiple local municipalities are coming together to fight the opioid crisis in Saratoga County.
An educational community forum will be held on Oct. 26 at Shenendehowa High School West on the topic of understanding heroin and opioid abuse. The event will be sponsored by the towns of Clifton Park, Halfmoon, Stillwater, Waterford, Ballston Spa, and Malta. Other sponsors include the Shenendehowa Central School District, CAPTAIN Youth and Family Services, and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
The event is free and open to the public, and will start at 6 p.m. The panel will feature a physicians, addiction treatment specialists, and law enforcement officials.
Saratoga County recently joined the ranks of municipalities around the country that intend to sue large pharmaceutical suppliers and distributers.
