ALBANY — New York State Senator Kathy Marchione (R-Halfmoon) presented a senate resolution on Thursday morning that would recognize April 9, 2018, as “Yellow Ribbon Day.”

Carol Pingelski-Hotaling, of Halfmoon,(second from the left) known by many as the “Yellow Ribbon lady,” has been organizing an annual Yellow Ribbon Day ceremony in Saratoga County to honor United States troops since 2006.

On Yellow Ribbon Day, yellow ribbons will be placed across the region to show support for men and women serving in America’s armed forces. Pingelski-Hotaling crafts all of the ribbons herself.
