HALFMOON—On Friday, September 18, we celebrated National POW/MIA Recognition Day. It is a day to remember all the brave Americans who have gone missing in wartime as well as their families who are still hoping and praying that someday they will walk up the driveway and return home.
“For POW/MIA Recognition Day we did a resolution—we do a yearly resolution—which is just a resolution of the town board that honors the POW/MIA Recognition Day on Sept. 18,” Halfmoon Town Supervisor Kevin Tollisen said. “The town board obviously supports our soldiers and supports our veterans and supports those who have been prisoners of war and those that have been missing in action. We do this because we want to honor those people who have done so much for our country.”
Just because they are lost from sight, these heroes are not out of mind; in fact, they will never be forgotten.
